As seen on TED.com
Ultra-Ever Dry is a superhydrophobic (water) and oleophobic (hydrocarbons) coating that will completely repel almost any liquid. Ultra-Ever Dry uses proprietary nanotechnology to coat an object and create a barrier of air on its surface. This barrier repels water, refined oil, wet concrete, and other liquids unlike any other coating. Ultra-Ever Dry has vastly improved adhesion and abrasion resistance, compared to previous technologies, allowing it to be used in applications where greater durability is required.
-
Anti-Wetting - The superhydrophobic coating keeps objects dry, water and many other liquids simply repel off.
-
Anti-Corrosion – Maximum corrosion protection since the superhydrophobic coating ensures water and moisture never actually contact the base material.
-
Anti-Icing - The superhydrophobic properties of Ultra-Ever dry keeps coated materials completely dry, eliminating the formation of ice.
-
Anti-Contamination – Dust, dirt, water and other liquids that contain bacteria or radiation never actually contact the surface of the coated material so bacteria and radiation is greatly diminished or eliminated and easy to decontaminate to sterile, if needed.
-
Self-Cleaning - The Ultra-Ever Dry repels dirty water and thick oils, and remains clean and virtually bacteria-free. When dust, dirt or other molecules accumulate on a superhyrophobic coated surface, a light spray of water or a blast of air grabs the dust and removes it.
-
Product Life-Extending – Many products fail from moisture, water, oil or simply getting too dirty for continued use. Use Ultra-Ever Dry superhydrophobic coating to extend the life of work gloves and other PPE, electric motors by preventing moisture on the windings, coat nuts and bolts to prevent corrosion, coat tools, equipment, and virtually any item that needs to be kept dry, corrosion free, de-iced, uncontaminated or clean. Save money, provide greater safety and a cleaner work environment.

| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS | |
| 1. What is the working temperature range for Ultra-Ever Dry SE 7.6.110? | |
| Answer: The working temperature range for the product is from -30°F to 300°F (-34°C to 149°C) once it has been applied. It has been effective at temperatures up to 500°F, but we would recommend further testing for any application that will see temperatures above 300°F (149°C). | |
| 2. How long will Ultra-Ever Dry coating last? | |
| Answer: The SE 7.6.110 formula’s longevity in use is susceptible to environmental conditions (UV / abrasion). This coating will generally last 2-8 months in direct sunlight and outdoor conditions before recoating of the top coat would be required. When used in indoor or covered applications outdoors, the SE 7.6.110 coating should last for a year or more. Other formulas are being added to our product line that can provide years of useful life before any recoat is needed. | |
| 3. What materials will the Ultra-Every Dry adhere or bond to? | |
| Answer: Almost any material is a candidate for Ultra-Ever Dry application; steel, aluminum, other metals, plastic, leather, fabric, wood, concrete, etc. | |
| 4. How abrasion-resistant is Ultra-Ever Dry SE 7.6.110? | |
|
Answer: One of the breakthroughs for this product is its abrasion resistance. The proprietary material provides more abrasion resistance than previous superhydrophobic materials, registering a result of 110 on the Taber Abrasion Method (ASTM D4060-10). If abrasion is a concern, testing is recommended. If the superhydrophobic coating is removed due to abrasion, it can be reapplied by re-spraying.
|
|
| 5. Will the superhydrophobic coating still work if the top coat is greatly reduced due to abrasion? | |
|
Answer: Yes. In many situations, the superhydrophobic nature of the material may be diminished but the remaining top coat and bottom coat still provide the functionality of keeping the coated material from getting wet, iced-up or corroding. This is application dependent.
|
|
| 6. How many square feet or square meters can a gallon of Ultra-Ever Dry cover? | |
| Answer: A gallon of Ultra-Ever Dry will cover 250 square feet or 23 square meters. | |
| 7. How is Ultra-Ever Dry applied? | |
| Answer: The two-part system (top and bottom coat) is sprayed on using air sprayers, pump sprayers or even finger trigger sprayers. NOTE: Both parts (top and bottom coat) are required for all applications of Ultra-Ever Dry. | |
| 8. How long does Ultra-Ever Dry SE 7.6.110 take to cure? | |
|
Answer: Generally about 20 - 30 minutes for the bottom coat and 5-10 minutes for the top coat. This can be reduced by applying heat using an oven or an industrial heat gun or blow dryer.
|
|
| 9. What do the terms “superhydrophobic” and “oleophobic” mean? | |
|
Answer: Superhydrophobic refers to a coating that exhibits superior water repelling properties that exceeds 150 degrees of contact angle when measuring the sphere of a drop of water on the surface. Ultra-Ever Dry creates an angle of 165-175 degrees. Well-known windshield water repellants are closer to 110 degrees and are only “hydrophobic”. Oleophobic refers to the ability to repel oil and other hydrocarbons. This chart will help illustrate.
|
|
| 10. What color is the superhydrophobic coating? | |
|
Answer: The standard product is a translucent white. We do not have a transparent formula at this time. Custom colors are available upon request, minimums may apply. It is recommended to try the superhydrophobic coating in an inconspicuous area first if color is important.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT APPLICATIONS
| 1. Can I use Ultra-Ever Dry on my car? | |
|
Answer: Our product can be used on cars but we recommend only using it underneath the vehicle. It is not recommended for use on body panels or windows/windshields because of the translucent white color. It is recommended to try the Ultra-Ever Dry in an inconspicuous area first if color is important. It will cover a gloss paint with a dull, matte finish. Some exceptions to this recommendation is using Ultra-Ever Dry on work vehicles such as cement trucks or off-road vehicles where aesthetics are not as important as cleanliness, anti-corrosion, anti-icing and maintenance.
|
|
| 2. Can Ultra-Ever Dry be used to prevent graffiti? | |
| Answer: Surfaces coated with Ultra-Ever Dry will not prevent oil-based paints from being applied, due to the solvents in the formulas. It has been shown to be somewhat effective with water-based paints however the majority of spray paints are oil-based. | |
| 3. Can I spray this on the bottom of my boat? | |
| Answer: We are still testing this application. We do not have any meaningful or conclusive results at this time. | |
| 4. Can I use Ultra-Ever Dry on my skis, snowboard or surfboard? | |
| Answer: We have not had the opportunity to test Ever Dry for these applications. | |
| 5. Will spraying Ultra-Ever Dry on my phone make it waterproof? | |
| Answer: Ultra-Ever Dry does protect electric connections from water and moisture and is non-conductive, but Ultra-Ever Dry is not clear. It dries to a translucent white color, so we cannot recommendspraying phones with it. | |
