Ultra-Oil Mops®

Quick response to small hydrocarbon leaks and spills on land or water

Versatility is always a great attribute of a spill response product.  The Ultra-Oil Mop can be used for small oil spills on land or water.

  • Fast-wicking pads are designed to soak up 25 times their weight in oil and other petroleum products, but will not soak up water.
  • Polypropylene ”oil only” sorbent pads are cut to fit — easily removed and replaced after they have been saturated.
  • Foam core allows mop head to float on top of the water and pull off oil, gas and hydrocarbon sheen that floats on the surface of the water.
  • Floating design and pivoting handle make water surface clean-up easy with no stray oil pads to retrieve.
  • Aluminum handle telescopes from 30” to 52” — provides easy reach to spills.
  • The perfect addition to any spill kit!
  • Helps comply with the requirements of the Clean Marina Program when used as a Best Management Practice in Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do with the sorbent pads after they've been used? Can I throw them in the trash?
Any used pads will need to be properly disposed of which typically means, in the same manner, you would dispose of the liquid/chemical that you just absorbed. Please confirm with your local authorities for required procedures.

Do I have to buy the Sorbent Pads separately?
The Ultra-Oil Mop (Part# 3300) comes with six (6) Sorbent Pads so you'll have something to start with, but it's a good idea to buy the 50-Pack or replacement Pads, so you have them on hand for larger spills.

Are any tools required to put the Ultra-Oil Mop together?
No, no tools are required. The Oil Mop can be assembled by hand very quickly and easily so you can respond to the spill.

Will the Ultra-Oil Mop head or Sorbent Pads absorb water if I'm using it to clean up a spill that's on the water?
No, the Oil Mop's head is a closed-cell foam so it will not absorb any water. And the polypropylene Sorbent Pads are "oil specific" and will not soak up any water.

How long is the Oil Mop's handle?
The Ultra-Oil Mop has a telescoping handle that can be adjusted in length from 30" to 52".
